Badly Scalded Boy Sees Hope After Distressing Accident
Bertie Campbell seven years old son of Locomotive Fireman Grant Campbell of 711 South Third Street was badly scalded when a teapot spilled on him. The skin hung in shreds and he suffered extreme pain until Dr. Montgomery reported signs of recovery today. Narcotics were used for pain and the father was away on a west end run.

Fatal Accident In Milford Involving Rufus Dennis
Rufus Dennis prominent farmer living 14 miles northeast of Milford was struck and instantly killed by a northbound Big Four train. He tried to cross the track in front of the locomotive at 12:20 p.m. and was horribly mangled. He leaves a wife and five children.

Narrow Escape Behind Elkhart Arrest
Harry Trout was arrested by Marshal Dunbar and Officer Carlin for provoking an assault after a complaint by Northeast Elkhart grocer John Mathias. Judge Arnold fined him $13.50 and jailed him in Goshen.
