Carnival Opens to 3000 Crowd in Elkhart
The Elks carnival kickoff drew over three thousand visitors with 1926 paid admissions at the grounds and many more through complimentary tickets. Fireworks of lights and tents transformed an empty lot into a glittering midway as showmen pitched attractions and the Stadium and wild animal acts drew the strongest crowds.

Burlesque Elks Parade Delights Ten Thousand Spectators
A grand burlesque street parade of the Elks drew about ten thousand people this morning. The 10:30 start from the carnival grounds featured absurd circus parodies with wooden “beasts” cages band wagons threshing machines chariots and Annie Oakley impersonators. The route ran along Main Sycamore Second Tyler Franklin and returned to the show grounds.

Three sales were held Saturday by Sheriff Elliott. In Equitable Building, Loan & Saving Assoc vs W H Hauenstein the Elkhart property was bid in by the plaintiff for 1053.03. In Fidelity Building and Saving Union vs Albert W Gordon the Elkhart property sold for 1000 to the plaintiff. In Colmer vs Zeitler the Elkhart county farm was not sold due to no bidders, appraised at 1900 and offered subject to a life estate of Mary Zeitler mother of the defendant.
