James Cook of Goshen and Melvin Johnson of Ligonier were jailed on grand larceny charges for allegedly stealing $135 in old iron from Noah Dausman’s saw mill in Harrison Township and selling the plunder in Elkhart. The alleged crime occurred last fall with Dausman and others testifying. Bond set at $500 each. hearing planned tonight. Cook and Johnson deny guilt. Railroad wreck in Buffalo kills eleven and injures twenty five
In Buffalo Kansas eleven men were killed and twenty five injured when the northbound Missouri Pacific stock train and a work train collided last night. The dead include Greek and Italian laborers and the American work boss Ery. Four of the injured are expected to die. A misread order caused the work train 294968 to back into a curve. The cars were destroyed and some passengers were taken to Coffeyville hospital.

New Law Lets Prosecutor Sue For Divorce Defaults
Prosecuting Attorney W. B. Hile must represent the state in default divorce cases under a new law enacted by the last legislature. If no bona fide appearance is made, the judge can order the prosecutor to enter the state on the docket and direct the plaintiff to pay a five dollar fee to the clerk within twenty days. The act, effective since March with an emergency clause, may complicate divorces.
