Colfax's Case Examined by Albany Journal
The Albany Evening Journal rebuts charges of Colfax receiving twelve hundred dollars from Credit Mobilier. It cites a thousand dollar deposit and a later draft to Indiana Republican leaders as proof of his denial, while challenging the World’s six hundred eighty eight dollar calculation and Ames’s testimony as weak.
