Howard Smith Draws With Gus Bezenah

Howard Smith and Gus Bezenah fought a twenty round draw under agreement to halt if both remained standing at the end. Bezenah refused to continue unless a draw was called, while Smith outpointed him in most rounds, drawing a 200-strong crowd. Smith, favored after a recent win over Walter Little, weighed in at 120 pounds and showed little fatigue after the bout, with plans for a rematch to be decided in a month or two.
