Albert Wneck, 34, of 89 Bayway, lies dying at Alexian Hospital after a stabbing about 10 p.m. as he neared his home. Suspect Steve Munch, a Polish immigrant, was arrested at his sister’s nearby home after Wneck named him. The weapon a four inch blade clasp knife with bone handle was found in Munch’s confession. Wneck identified Munch as his assailant. motive unknown.
Two young Russian men, Frank Kosworth aged 22 and Jansry Catrus aged 25, who recently arrived in America, were killed on the Long Branch Division of the Central Railroad while walking on a bri dge over the Elizabeth River. They failed to notice an approaching express from New York and were hit. the engineer could not stop in time. Bodies brought to Elizabeth Avenue station and morgue. they lodged at 6 Broadway and had no known relatives in the U.S. County Physician Westcott was notified.

They must answer within two days. a final hearing likely January 11. The case challenges the ripper bill as special legislation limited to first class cities.
A New Jersey melee in Kenilworth involving Italian residents led to one death and multiple injuries as Elizabeth delegates sought funds for Michael Venzio’s defense. The fight spilled from a home on Tenth Street to the street, with guns and knives used openly. Investigators questioned participants while authorities mapped connections to the Black Hand as receipts and defense bills surfaced.

Davies Warfield and R Lancaster Williams were named by Federal Judge Peter C. Pritchard as receivers for the Seaboard Air Line Railroad Company. The Fidelity and Deposit Company of Baltimore will post the bonds for the new receivers who will assume control of the railroad at once. The appointment follows a bid by Seaboard’s lawyers and not by either board faction.

Mamie Osmulskey of Sumit aged not yet 16 pleaded guilty to stealing two diamond rings valued at 200 dollars. Judge Atwater sent her to the State Reform School for Girls at Trenton. An effort to place her in a charitable home failed. Several boys convicted of buying stolen coke were remanded to next week. a warrant was issued for Michael Kranich who failed to appear. Judge warned parents they may be indicted if they allow their children to steal or violate the law.
Residents of Whion Township submit a petition asking formal approval to annex El Mora to Elizabeth. The petition, received at last night’s meeting, was referred to a joint Law and Finance committee.
