Iowa Soldiers Bonus Ballot Act to Issue Bonds
The act authorizes Iowa to incur 85 million dollars in bonds to fund World War II service compensation for residents who served between 1940 and 1945. It creates a World War II Service Compensation Board to administer payments, sets monthly rates up to 500 dollars, and provides a tax levy to repay the bonds. The measure is to be voted on at the November 1948 general election.
