A group of northern township farmers gathered with the board to discuss apportioning fire tax funds. Clermont Fire Department will serve farmers along the Clermont lines extending to Abel Habager and Kenneth Blockhus, covering about 25 percent of the township area and 20 percent of the tax.

The Service Women's Club met at Mrs Herbert Martin's home on Tuesday November 17 to begin Forty Hours Devotion with songs scripture and homely decorations. Members read poems and discussed future meetings while the Saint Louis Archdiocese announces Father David Thomas will preach the devotion at Saint Pet urch Clermont from December 4 to 6. Father Thomas serves on the archdiocesan staff and is active in liturgical renewal nationwide.
Riverside Club met Thursday afternoon at Mrs LaVilla Rowland home. Six members shared thanks, $10 was donated to Sunset Home Calmar and Fayette County Assn for Retarded Children. Christmas meeting set Dec 8 at Mrs Roy Tatro with gift exchange. Contests prizes awarded. door prize won. lunch served.
The St Ann's circle met at Mrs Dennis Bear's home on Tuesday evening November 17. Fifteen members attended and praised magazines donated by Mrs George V Larson. Lunch was served after the business session. Mrs Lorranne Crowe led the program. The next meeting is planned for December 15 at Bakewell's.
The Clermont library will not be open on Friday November 27 following Thanksgiving Day. The holiday closure affects regular story times and borrowing services.
