Sheriff L J Bolman destroyed fifty gallons of illicit liquor seized months ago at Leonard Frehning’s Postville home. D C Carney of the Fayette county institution obtained the alcohol for medicinal use after Judge Eichendorf’s order. The alcohol was delivered to the Fayette home hospital and transported there by Carney.
The Mississippi river froze over south of MecGregor Tuesday night after two days of below freezing weather with a low of six above. It marks the earliest ice in some time and is not expected to last. North Iowa Times
