State Personnel Plan Faces Opposition in Senate Vote
Synhorst opposes the new state personnel plan citing a rule that would strip elected officials of appointment powers. The plan, approved 4 to 1 by a council including the governor and secretary of state, would shift appointment approvals to the division of personnel with the comptroller. Other items note Richardson returning to state payroll as an auditor, postmasters’ officers elected, and a 4% statewide liquor store sales decline with a 38% drop in Sioux City stores.
