Special Town Meeting Adopts Levy and Sewer Bond Resolutions

In a May 5 1961 special session at the town hall Mayor Jee E Friederich and Council members present approve a resolution instructing the town to prepare a levy estimate. A second resolution fixes the hearing date for the sewer construction bond tax to pay 64000.00 for future years, with adoption carried and the meeting adjourned. Attest Town Clerk Leon E. Habegers Tour Spring Recital and Family Homes

Mr and Mrs Aillen Habeger spent Sunday visiting relatives in Cedar Rapids and Manchester after attending Lillian Smiths 1961 Spring Recital for YWCA Students of Dance at the YMCA Little Theatre. Granddaughter Susan Habeger was a recital pupil. The party shared the day with Mr and Mrs Eugene Habeger and with Mr and Mrs George Vaughn in Manchester.

Mr and Mrs Howard Steward of Strewberry Point visit Puffett and Vaughns. Walter Leh man Dorothy Mueller and Mil lie Lamprecint, all of Manchester, attended. Mr and Mrs Habeger brought the Vaughns home Sunday night on their way home from Cedar Rapids.

Andrea Schori granddaughter of Leo Schori performed in Scheherazade by Rimsky Korshakoff at the new McCormace Place Theatre in Chicago on May 3. Music was by the 75 piece Chicago Business Men's Symphonic Orchestra. Andres, aged 1, has recently been confirmed in the Lutheran church. she is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Kenneth Schori.

The clubs voted to resume a tour Monday June 19 starting at 8 00 pm at Paul Mer 2 and Sylvia Hanson s home. A noon picnic dinner will be at Clermont The club will cover half the short course expense 9 00 dollars. In a home gathering hosted by Mrs. Donald Caspers, the Illyria and Illytia circles held a panel discussion on the status of women in the church. Rev. Donald Caspers showed a film titled A Chance to Grow while circles Mary and others celebrated with a birthday party and a lesson Words Can Be Walls. Guests included Mrs. Herry Cline, Mrs. Robert Han gon, Mrs. Newell McIntyre, Mrs. Walter Follett, and Mrs. Clifton Wilson.
