Commerce College Head Predicts Postwar Boom

Dean V A Phillips of the University of Iowa commerce college foresees a prosperous era after the war. Elgin residents Mr. and Mrs. Howard Boyle and Mrs. Vera Conner hosted and attended dinners at the Walter Kohis home. The Kensington Club met Monday with seven guests, including Mrs. R. W. Muehlenthaler and Mrs. Tryphe Knudtson, ending with bridge at Klingman’s cafe. Prizes went to Miss Gehring, Mrs. Lulu Schmid, and Mrs. Ern Holzer. Major D. B. Williams, returning from the South Pacific, visited at the Postville station after arriving in Chicago. Dinner guests at Lew Grover and H. F. Robbing homes included multiple local families and visitors from Hawkeye and West Union.
