Elgin and Highland AL CW hosted a guest meeting at the Elgin Lutheran Church on Thursday April 26. The Marion and East Clermont ALCW attended as guests. The Lord's Prayer was recited, the table grace sung, and a luncheon was served.

The Liberty Bell planned for West Union on Thursday May 10 will be on display starting 6 30 am on the north side of the courthouse square. A brief ceremony with the North High School band will precede the 10 00 am departure as part of the national Freedom Bond Drive promoting United States savings bonds. The Bell will also be shown in Oelwein May 8 after 6 pm and May 9 until 11 45 am. Local co chair Carl Schori of Fayette County notes the exhibit supports fundraising.
The Illyria Ladies' Aid entertained the Circle Rachel of the Methodist W.S.C.S. last Thursday with a style show featuring hostesses modeling costumes, a narrated program by Duane Strong, and a skit titled Clothing The Christian Woman by Mrs. Floyd Frieden, Mrs. Gordon Pollock, and Mrs. Milo Frieden. Lunch was provided by Mesdames Paul Smith, LeRoy Rothlisberger, Kenneth Strong, and Roy Halverson.
