Mr and Mrs Ed Hunter and their son Mike of Hiawatha were weekend guests in the Sam Dennler home. Mr and Mrs Henry T Olson plan a four month summer stay at their Nevis Minnesota home starting this week.
Instructions describe combining 2 cups unsifted whole wheat flour 4 cups sifted all purpose flour 4 tip salt with yeast and shortening. Add honey and blend then let rise about 30 minutes unto doubling. Stir 25 strokes divide into two greased leaf pans rise 40 to 60 minutes and bake at 375 degrees.
Afternoon visitors included Mrs Kathryn Vaughn and Wesley Miller of McGregee as Robert and Janet hosted. Neighbors and relatives from Waterloo Durant Osage and Miles City joined for dinners and weekend stays, celebrating five years of Dale Seitz and many other family gatherings across multiple homes.
Elgin and Highland church notices outline the week with ALCW meetings on Thursday at 2 pm, mission programs and guest days, plus Luther League convention at Zion West Union on Friday 2 pm. additional confirmations, choir rehearsals, junior and senior Lutherans events, and Sunday services at 9 30 am Sunday school and 10 45 am worship.
Elgin and nearby residents hosted numerous relatives and friends for supper and Sunday dinners. Guests included Mr and Mrs Newell McIn tyre, Mrs Burnell Benson and children from West Union, Mr and Mrs Bert Baechier, Mr and Mrs John Grimm, the Dahmers family of Rock Island, and the Lantz, Evans, Krueger, Schaer, Jacob, Schroeder, and Stewart households. Nurses Eloise Lantz and Barbara Conley, connected to Allen Memorial Hospital, visited in Waterloo and Lantz homes.
