In Cumberland Indiana last night Reverend Brigsley Lamar shot and killed Calvin Van Winkle, 24, after a dispute over Holiness doctrine. Wiliam Van Wickle, Calvin's father, argued with Lamar outside the church. shots were exchanged but only the killing occurred. Lamar fled, pending arrest.
Authorities in Manila guard against cholera as cases rise near Malolos and Apuri. Twenty six cages and twenty one death experts dispatched to investigate five cases, two more in Apuri. Train and boat travel barred for five days to prevent spread.
In Mount Clare near Clarkeburg on March 26 a clash between discharged unlay men and non union supporters led to injuries. A union sympathizer was seriously hurt and several others were injured as revolvers and stones were used. Warrants were issued and arrests made amid potential Ku Klux activity next days.
