Democrats Eye State Ticket Shuffle In Iowa

The Iowa Democratic Party signals a stronger push for a unified ticket headed by President Roosevelt and Senator Guy Gillette. Central committee chair Jake S. More says a slate will be backed in the primary, with candidates like Horace Van Metre for governor and Roy Stevens or John Mitchell for lieutenant governor. Prospects for attorney general include Grover Brown or John Moon, while other posts attract names such as Walter Dietz, A F McGreevey, Peter Kies, and Genevieve Nichols with Alice McGrath. Additional potential national committeeman challengers include Jacobsen and Kraschel among others. Meanwhile state enforcement tightens on truck tax evasion by out-of-state registrants.
