Iowa Legislature Back After Short Vacation
The Iowa legislature resumes work after a breathing spell with major issues ahead. Redistricting, state office building, truck taxation, teachers annuity, liquor, housing, athletics loom as top headaches. Debate over congressional and senatorial redistricting centers on which seat to cut as Iowa loses a congressman. Building funds, truck tax stalemate, and wage of out-of-state trucks fuel contention, with partisan lines shaping likely outcomes.
