Worth county push to end oleo use and boost butter

Creamery managers move to unite producers consumers and merchants in Worth county to eliminate oleo substitutes and raise butter use. An agreement signed by every Northwood grocer imposes a 25 dollar forfeiture for violations. Former Elgin merchant dies in Minot ND

E H Johnson 66 a Minot accountant and former Elgin clothing merchant, died likely of a heart attack in his third floor apartment. Born in Trondheim with uncertain birth year, he lived in Elgin IA and Monticello Milbank and Ardmore before moving to Minot in 1907. He never married and left behind two Norwegian sisters and a brother who died recently in California.

Eat More Butter Says M. D. Munn

Marcus D. Munn president of the National Dairy Council urged rural communities to consume half an ounce more butter daily for two months to absorb surpluses and stabilize the dairy industry. He noted surplus across dairy products and praised butter as the most economical palatable growth nutrient.

Fiddlers Contest Announced by K. G. C. A

The annual Old Time Fiddlers Contest will be broadcast from radio station EGCA De Corah on Sunday March 9 1930 starting at 1230 noon. Entrants may bring an accompanist or use a station accompanist and should send entries promptly with information available at the station. The event aims to crown a new champion and attracting thousands of listeners.
