The Elgin Echo is a weekly Elgin Iowa publication printed by Hermen and Bartunek. It is entered as second class mail matter September 1, 1891, at Fayette County post office under the 1852 act, and circulated every Wednesday with the same publishers.

Survived by wife Lily one step daughter and grand daughter three brothers two sisters thirty nieces and nephews. Burial in Elgin cemetery at Muehle thaler's Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Stutrud officiating.
