The Elgin Lutheran ALCW gathered Thursday afternoon June 17 in the fellowship hall. Hostesses, ushers, pianists, cradle roll organizers and graduating pre school class were noted. New cradle roll members listed. several graduates recognized. program included readings, recitations, songs, poems, and a June birthday offering.
Town Council met in regular session at the town hall with all members present. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Bills were audited and allowed, including debt service interest payments and a special assessment fund item listed with Merc hants National Bank and Iowa-Des Moines National Bank among others.
May receipts list waterworks road use tax sanitation and street fund expenses from Interstate Power Co and Standard Oil. Salaries for Leo Friederich Max Thoma and others noted along with cigarette permit approvals and a Class C liquor license application. Council thanks Gilbertsons for land donation for sewer and water ditch work. Adjournment and clerk duties recorded.

Mrs Virgil Frieden and girls and Mrs Harry Frieden were supper guests Friday of Fanny Frieden and Ida. Mrs Clem Meyer West Union was a caller Monday of Mrs Fanny Frieden. Recent visitors of Mrs Alice Kjosa were Mrs Dale DeSart Mrs Ida Leuchtenmacher and Mrs Lawrence West. Mr Kenneth Kjosa and Mrs Don Mahlow were Monday evening visitors of Mrs Alice Kjosa and children. Mr and Mrs Don Mahlow guests in the Elmer Lembke home the past week end. Recent callers in the Ole Reierson home were Mr and Mrs
