Town Council of Clermont Fayette County Iowa to meet July 30 1956 at 8 pm in Town Hall. Taxpayers may speak for or against the proposed expenditures for 1957 with a detailed receipts and disbursements statement available at the hearing.
Volga residents hosted and traveled for visits with family in Beloit Milwaukee and Arlington. Mrs Will Goodin celebrated a birthday with a dinner prepared by Mrs Ray Klingman while Mrs D J Crain hosted relatives. Guests included the Klingman families the Longmaiers and numerous relatives from Center Junction Sterling Sioux Falls Oelwein and Arlington along with Boy Scouts outings to Waterloo.

Sunday dinner at Oscar Lamphier home included the Lyle Lamphier family of Randalia and Elmer Chase. John Staffenhagen of Elgin visited in the afternoon. Dr. Hubert Smith, veterinarian of Sioux City, called on Mrs. D. J. Crain Monday. Mrs. Mary Little hosted Maud Meyers, Mary Ernst, Bill Christeleit, Ralph Behrens of Strawberry Point, and Lester Stahl of Elkader. Stahl visited aunt Rose Glennon, Littleport, a former Volga resident. The Rev and Mrs Greene were also mentioned in the local social notes.
