Eleanor London daughter of H K London and Marlon Blockhus son of M J Blockhus of Elgin wed June 14 at 4 p m in Immanuel Lutheran Forest City. Rev O G Salveson and Rev Burton Smith officiated double ring ceremony with white peonies decor. Music featured Mrs Joseph Peterson organist and Albert Lea singer with Ludvig Wangberg on French horn. Bride wore nylon Marquisette gown with Chantilly lace, train and lace cap, bouquet of Weathered carnations orchids pearls. Attendants included Bernice Blockhus and Mrs John Hellerud, orchid dresses, Rosalie Morris junior bridesmaid. Best man Kenneth Blockhus. ushers Harvey Gilbertson and Duane Opdahl. Reception followed in church parlors with four-tier cake topped by yellow roses.

The Shoal District board of directors in Clyria County will hold a budget hearing on July 1, 1962, at 8 p.m. A detailed statement of receipts and disbursements, past and anticipated, will be presented for review by taxpayers. District Secretary J. Q. Probert will oversee the process.
Hayward Minnesota hosted a wedding with Mrs Stan Townstouck of Iowa City in charge of gifts. Dorothy Wonsmos of Thornton performed piano and Rosalie Ann Morris of Charles City played violin. The bride, a graduate of Forest City High School Waldorf College and Augustana College, taught in Jewell and Decorah schools. A play titled When Jane Takes a Hand is set for Friday evening at Illyria church with admission 35 and 15. Dr. L S Hutchinson marks his twenty second year as Elgin dentist since settling July 5 1905. Dorathy Shaffer Gilson and William Frederick wed July 2 1927 at 2 pm. Bakers in small towns organize to curb city bakeries. Local merchants protest selling bread baked in rival cities. From Max Thomas July clearance sale: laundry soap 10 bars 39 cents rice coffee 42 per pound 16 yard 36 inch 16 cents. Elgin C T A June 1927 report shows Gottlieb Puffer top with 1275 pounds milk and 41.9 pounds butterfat.
Index of prices received by Iowa farmers fell 11 points or 3 percent during the month ending June 15. Declines attributed mainly to hogs and beef cattle prices. The index stood at 306 percent of the base period on June 15, down from 317 a month earlier and 328 percent of June 15, 1951.
Prices received for meat animals declined 18 points or 1 percent with all items in the index down except veal calves. The dairy product index slipped 3 points amid ongoing declines in butterfat and milk prices to plants and dealers. The poultry and egg index eased to 145 as egg prices rose slightly but chick en prices fell, while the all crop index rose 4 points to 282. Corn, soybeans and flaxseed rose, offset by declines in oats, hay, wheat, barley and rye. Calves remain a focus as oats gain value for starter calves and light cattle on feed.
