He holds a master’s in electrical engineering from ISU and lives with his wife and 7 year old daughter in Arlington, Virginia near Washington, D.C.
Mr and Mrs Jack Adrian hosted the 500 card club Saturday evening. Mrs Robert Falb was high scorer and Mr Robert Falb was high scorer while Mrs Leonard Heins was low. Guests included Mr and Mrs Gene Lehman and Mr and Mrs Leonard Heins, with Mr and Mrs Don Fauser as travelers.
Mr and Mrs Richard Ketel sen and Kirk of Moline Ill have bought a new home in Heritage Addition at 5016 44th Avenue Moline They moved this week from Clinton where Mr Ketelsen teaches math at John Deere Junior High School and Mrs Ketelsen serves as secretary at the school The latter is Janette Krueger twin daughter of Gus and Mrs Krueger
Mrs. Carrie Doty age 90 of South Haven Michigan died Monday January 1 1983 at South Haven Community Hospital. She was born August 26 1872 in Clayton County Iowa and lived in South Haven since 1944. She leaves a daughter Genevieve Johnson seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services were held Wednesday at Calvin Funeral Home South Haven with Rev Hilding Kilgren officiating. Burial and services will be held later in Illyria. She previously lived in Highland Township with the Dennlers and later with her family in Battle Creek and South Haven.
George Hanson born April 27 1888 in Drammen Norway to Bernt and Kristian ia Hanson Tannberg emigrated to seek new opportunities. He lived a life marked by hard work and family dedication, passing away after a long illness. His legacy includes his contributions to his community and the memories he shared with loved ones.
Elgin community mourns after the death of a longtime farmer and church member aged 76. Survived by wife Randine and three children, he served on many church boards, helped organize and promote the East Clermont Lutheran Church, and was a director of Elgin State Bank. Funeral services were held January 23 at East Clermont Lutheran Church with burial in the same cemetery.
A brief message thanks interim Lokken for his sympathy and extends sincere appreciation to each member of the Hanson family for support during a difficult time.
Valley High girls beat Fredericksburg 45 to 18 on January 21 securing their 16th consecutive win. Fayne Triem led with 44 points, Karen Olson scored 18, Janet Roth lisberger 17, Judy high added 29 for Fredericksburg. Reserve game ended 37 to 30 with Ette Meyer top Valley scorer 14.
A hearing on the proposal to abandon and sell 23.2 miles of rail line heard that current revenue does not cover operation maintenance and taxes. The commission recommends selling the line or part to a responsible party for net salvage value. Rock Island estimates $27,733 to service industries and $5,225 to remove trackage. They get results.
