War time rationing tightens as 1945 plans announced
The war era ration system tightens as unspent 1944 stamps are canceled to conserve scarce foods. 1945 sugar limits allow 700000 tons, butter stocks are low, and processed foods needs for armed forces remain heavy. Meats expected 15 percent below late 1944. WFA now handles farm lumber preferences, and only a quarter of needed motor trucks will be produced due to higher armed service demand.
