Elgin hosted Clermont for two hard fought basketball games on Dec. 12. The second team won 23 to 9 after leading 10 to 6 at halftime. Starting for Elgin were Torkelson Bovis Schori Kimpston and Adrian. Wede Miller Halverson Erickson Warton also played. Wedo topped scoring with 6 points. Johnnie Warton left for the Navy the next day as the senior class presented a $10 gift during the last game halves. Volga was to play here on Tuesday night.
