Clermont Scene of Disastrous Fire

A severe morning blaze in Clermont destroyed the Lubke store and Reierson barber shop, with both buildings badly damaged beyond repair. Fire crews battled frozen hydrants and relied on help from West Union and Postville, while local residents aided with food and warmth for responders. The origin remains unknown, and the Vikings band pauses their Lent trip amid the disaster.
