Elgin residents enjoyed a Christmas dinner and supper at the home of Arno Foscher. Guests included Mr and Mrs Otto Buchheim, Eileen and Donald of Clayton Center, and Mr and Mrs Ervin.
An elderly resident Mrs. Joseph Patterson dies at age about seventy one at the Brainard area farm home. Funeral services were held the following Tuesday with burial in Pleasant Grove cemetery. The community also notes births, visits, and local happenings including a Shetland pony killed by wolves near Cherokee, family travels, and local dinners.
Dozens of families and guests are named as Christmas dinner hosts and attendees across Elgin and surrounding towns. The notices detail visits to the Klingman, Schweitzer, Rejerson, Durscher, Wenger, Pollock, Hofmann, and other homes, with hospital and travel updates as well as reflections on community ties.
