The American Legion Auxiliary met December 9 at Mrs. Willet Miller's home with Mrs. Franz Appelman assisting. They reported $40.60 sent to the county USO chairman and listed contributions from Town Ladies Aid, Clermont Study Club, Priscilla, B. & P., Grand Meadow Study Club, and the Auxiliary itself to the Crusade for Freedom fund. They sent $12.60 in gifts to Knoxville gift shop and voted to send six to seven dollar gifts to Clermont veterans in hospital care. Two men's suits were donated to hospital-bound veterans, and members urged bringing used decks of cards for hospital veterans.
