Legion Auxiliary Meeting Held In Elgin
The November meeting of the Elgin Legion Auxiliary was held in the Auxiliary rooms on November 18. President Mrs. Jacob Schneider led the session with Mrs. Earl Kiple in charge, presenting four new World War II Gold Star flags and honoring four Gold Star members. Twenty eight members attended, and Christmas Cheer gifts totaling $15 were sent to the Clinton Nursing Home.

4-H Award Night Honors Clayton County Youth
On Monday night November 18 at 8 p.m. the Clayton county 4-H award night was held at East Clermont Church. Completion and special awards plus premium checks were given to participants from clubs including U-Need-A Grand Meadow Larkettes Marion Busy Bees Busy Beavers Grand Meadow Go-Geters and Marion Happy Hustlers. Jim Hosch county extension assistant oversaw the wards and council members were elected with about 125 people in attendance.
