Clermont residents welcomed guests for Thanksgiving across many households in Dubuque Calmar and Decorah areas. Local families hosted relatives from Madison Waterloo Des Moines and Chicago with dinners dances and church events noted, including weddings and a candle light ceremony near Decorah. Numerous trips and visits to West Union Luana Monona and other towns are recorded along with school events and community activities.
Richard Louis Olson born August 12 1911 in Luverne Minnesota died November 24 1948 after a five year illness. He was 37 years 3 months 19 days. He married Evelyn Dugstad in 1937 and had four children Mary Grace Carolyn Gene. Survived by widow children his parents five brothers and one sister. He served as trustee of West Clermont Lutheran church and was active in civic groups. Funeral Saturday at West Clermont Lutheran with burial in Gods Acres.

Nesser for consolation, to those who furnished music, to the Priscillas and American Legion Auxiliary for serving, and to all who contributed food, flowers, or memorials. Also notes of visitors and Thanksgiving gatherings with family and friends are mentioned across multiple households in Albert Lea Castalia and Cedar Rapids area.
