Obituary of Sophie Groth

Sophie Groth daughter of Johannes and Guri Groth was born March 10 1879 in Clayton county and died November 24 at Good Samaritan Home West Union at age 76. She was baptized and confirmed in East Clermont Lutheran Church and engaged in church welfare. She was preceded by parents five brothers and three sisters and survived by one brother Martin Groth Elgin and several nieces and nephews. Funeral at East Clermont Church on Saturday November 26 with Rev S B Knudsen officiating Arlene Knudsen sang with Mrs S B Knudsen at the organ Burial in the adjoining cemetery Casket bearers Olaf Berg Ole Reierson Ole Blockhus Ludwig Anderson Joe Wander and Elmer Larson.

Service Next Stop France Arrives For Visit Then To Europe

M S at Stanley Loftsgard arrived Saturday night from Vance Air Force Base Oklahoma for a visit with relatives until Friday when he will depart for the east coast and France where he will be stationed. This will be his fourth European tour. His wife and son Skipper stay in their Enid Oklahoma home recently purchased. Loftsgard is son of Mr and Mrs Mellien Loftsgard of Garder. Pvt Rodney Guyer returned Saturday from Colorado Springs Colorado for a two week furlough with his parents Mr and Mrs Aubrey Guyer.
