Accident Near Gander Injures 5 Year Old Boy Kenneth Hellum
Saturday evening a serious accident occurred about a mile south of Gander when Kenneth Hellum five year old son of Mr and Mrs John Hellum was run down by a car. He suffered a broken left leg above the knee a broken left shoulder blade and two knocked out teeth. Florence Berg visited early this week with friend Winjifred Smith at Volga City. Prof J H Williams wife and two children came from Fairbank today to visit Mrs John Lehman. Mrs Lee Brubeck and Francis arrived Monday from California to visit Mr and Mrs Frane DeSart. Mr Brubeck traveling south from Omaha for a land inspection trip in Kansas and Missouri will arrive in Elgin later. Walter Kohler plans to leave soon for Cedar Rapids to take a business course. Clit Christ returned Tuesday from a two week outing visiting relatives at Waseca Minn and other points.
