Recipe fragment describes Mixing Bowl Coffee Cake with brown sugar white sugar butter flour pie crust method. Reserve 1 cup topping and add egg buttermilk soda to rest. Bake in greased pan at 375 for 30 minutes. Topping includes Heath bars and chopped nuts.
Mary Pamela Clothier and Dennis Meyer were married in a double ring ceremony at St. Pauls Methodist Church on Sunday August 19 at 2 30 pm The bride daughter of Mrs Mary Clothier and the late Robert Clothier and the groom son of Mr and Mrs Melbert Meyer exchanged vows assisted by Reverend Donald Caspers Arden Greener sang and Helmuth Landt provided organ accompaniment After the service the couple received Holy Communion The bride wore an Angel Gown Duchess satin with lace and veil and carried apricot roses A reception followed in the church parlors with relatives circulating around the five tiered wedding cake
Meyer aunt of the groom poured punch at the reception. Hostesses were Mrs. Clarence Schori and Mrs. Ella Dummermuth. Bride wore a traveling suit of white wool with brown accessories. After a west coast trip the couple will reside on a farm near Elgin starting September 15. Mrs. Meyer, a 1961 Valley High School graduate, attended Waterloo School of Practical Nursing, graduating August 10. Mr. Meyer also a Valley High School graduate works in farming with his father. Out of town guests came from Chicago Des Moines Cedar Rapids Postville Oelwein Iowa City Monona Strawberry Point West Union Clermont Luana Castalia Harper’s Ferry Waterloo Wadena Eldorado and Radcliffe.
Notice of Special Election in Elgin Iowa on the 7th day of 1962. Voters decide whether Elgin will provide water to Schori's Addition, incur debt up to 13000 dollars, issue bonds for that amount, and levy taxes up to 2 mills to pay bonds and interest. Polls open 8 AM to 8 PM at City Hall. Clerk Leo E Friderich attests.
Elgin residents hosted and visited relatives from Postville and Clermont while plans included Rochester hospital visits for G. J. Mosby. Monticello students from St Lukes Cedar Rapids spent weekend with Bernard Hanson and attended Clayton County Fair. Local gatherings featured a Three Quarter Century Club event at Oelwein Elks Club with attendees from Clermont and West Union.

Carl Rasmussen and Lily Olson hosts, Landswerk grandchildren with Ed Medberrys, travels to Sidney rodeo, and a Farm Bureau picnic in Fayette honoring Carolyn and Marlene Ash with many local families in attendance.
Brainard area residents hosted and visited over several days with family and friends. Wilma Grimes and Heidi Buckley from West Union stayed in the Richard Kohls home. Multiple guests attended weddings and meals across Stanhope New Hampton Boone Elkader and Nor ma areas as relatives traveled for celebrations and birthdays.
A Thompson family reunion was held last Sunday at Arlington park with relatives from Elkader Monona West Union and Postville attending. The event featured a wedding ceremony earlier in the day with a detailed wedding party and attire described, followed by family gathering activities.
Sharon Lee Johanningmeier and Leslie L. Lembke wed at St Pauls Lutheran Church Monona. Parents listed include Mr Willis Johanningmeier of Monona.
