Visitors from Waterloo and Cedar Falls were noted, and a divorce suit in Akron, Ohio, alleges the husband has been drunk since 1897.
Elgin's Little German Band gains fame with a three day engagement at the Independence Buchanan county fair. Frank Clark of the Lansing Journal suffers misfortune with a pair of auto accidents while his Cedar Rapids brother survived a fall over fifty foot bank. County supervisors and engineer Finch visited Elgin last Tuesday but offered no road plans. Ben Schneider and family traveled west to visit relatives in Wayne Truesdell Otterson and Lou Schneider West Bend, returning Wednesday.
Federal economists say world wheat prices will average higher in 1986 87 than in 1935 36 due to smaller supplies. Mary Goetz and Gladys Gulsvig of Gunder traveled to Waterloo on an indefinite visit to the James and Walter Bowers homes.
