The seventh annual Schwei ger reunion was held at Clermont City park on Sunday August 6 with a picnic supper. Present attendees gathered for the event.

Community committee and 1962 lineup named

The committee in charge was Mdms. Jacob Schneider, Law rence Butikofer, Leo Foels and Wilbur Lehman. The oldest member present was Dan Butikofer Sr. and the youngest member was Lynn Marie Molakken, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Molakken. Pleasant Point Study Club Pleases Members and Guests

The Pleasant Point Study Club met at Mrs. Harold Strong's home on August 8 with most members present and eleven guests. The president named planners for a birthday party and a program featured piano numbers by Iantha Strong Ivanel and Hal Wilson and Gail Light. Iva Feller and Mary Ann Metzger gave a 4 H demonstration Cherry Delight. prizes were awarded for flower arrangements to Mrs. Lou Dennler and Mrs. Orran Bane. The September meeting will be with Mrs. Allan Hageger. Members were asked to bring two platters and print material for platter plaques. felt is available at the meeting.

Illyria Clipperettes 4-H Club Meets in August

The Illyria Clipperettes 4-H Club held its regular monthly meeting on August 8 with 21 members and seven guests present. Hostesses were Jeanne and Mary Ann Metzger. Annette Meyer called the meeting to order. Roll call was a breakfast menu. Jantha Strong, secretary, and Anita Dennler were mentioned.

Fair booth reports and county demo honors at Fayette

The club reviewed fair booth plans and record books with volunteers Annette Iantha Anita Lynn Schori Marilyn Miles. Demonstrations included Cherry Delight by Iva Feller and Mary Ann Metzger who, with Iva and Mary Ann, won one of the top two Jr. division prizes at Fayette county demonstration day. They will demonstrate at the Big 4 fair in Postville with Jeri Martin as representative.

Christen Reunion Held August 6 at West Union Fairgrounds

The sixth annual Christen reunion gathered 68 members and eleven guests on Sunday August 6 at West Union fair grounds. Attendees from nearby towns listed, with a noon picnic and an afternoon of visiting. The group noted the 1960 meeting report and recorded two weddings six births three deaths since the last gathering.

Oldest and youngest members noted at last reunion

The oldest member was Mrs. Rose Zeugg and the youngest Shelly Jean Lehman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lehman. The group decided not to hold a reunion next year. John Wesley Brackin obituary notices elder veteran dies

John Wesley Brackin, 55, World War II veteran and longtime Janesville resident since 1827, died unexpectedly at 2:30 am Monday at his home. Born February 2, 1906 in Elgin, he was son of John and Louise Miller Brackin. He married Orpha Peterson in Rockford on September 8, 1928. Employed at Chevrolet Division General Motors since 1927, earlier worked at Parker Pen Co. He served as a sergeant with Company B Fifth Tank Battalion from November 24, 1942 to January 2, 1945. He was a member of American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and Silver Leaf Masonic Lodge No. 58 of Elgin. Survived by his wife, a stepson Elray Peterson of Edgerton, a stepdaughter Mrs. Harold Bothun of Janesville, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, six brothers and five sisters.
