Attend the Elgin band concert tonight

An Elgin band concert is set for tonight with friends to be met. Mr and Mrs Clifton Bailey of Arlington were dinner guests Sunday at Mrs Ross Hadd’s home. Rev E J Starr and daughter Mary Frances of Geneseo visited Elgin and Myria friends last Friday and Saturday. The Manchester chautauqua closed with a $1000 deficit, requiring $20 from each of 50 local guarantors to cover the payout.

Mr and Mrs A C Quenrod spent Sunday in the J T Butler home at West Branch. Spahr Cashman returned to Chicago after two weeks with Elgin relatives. Mrs Paul Heuser is again at the Reuben Mark home after caring for Mrs Honsberger who is ill. J C Schmid and Mrs a John Lyford and daughter Joan visited Edward Schmid family at Elkader Sunday. Richard and Robert Schmid joined them for a visit here. Arthur Stoehr arrived in Elgin from Fort Dodge where he worked on road construction and plans a short stay before returning to work. One Klingman cottage on the farm is nearly finished, the other is being erected for Mr and Mrs Carroll Klingman. they are rooming with Mr and Mrs Chas Doty while project continues.
