Obituary of Mrs Rosina Baumgartner

Rosina Baumgartner daughter of Joseph and Mary Schneider was born January 30 1870 and died July 30 at the Good Samaritan Home aged eighty five years six months. She married Alexander Baumgartner on December 10 1891 and they had three children Joseph Leslie and Florence Mrs Ernest Friederich. She joined the Apostolic Church early in life and was a generous longtime parishioner.

Faithful Elgin woman remembered in funeral rites

The longtime Elgin resident, wife of a deceased husband and mother of Leslie Friedenrich, was mourned in a service led by Rev. Paul Bannart at Muehlethaler funeral home and Apostolic Church. Burial followed. pallbearers were six nephews. Distanced mourners came from Chicago and several Iowa towns. Card of thanks noted gratitude for kindness shown during illness and death.

Miller and McIntyre Wed Under Candlelit Arch

Miss LaFonda Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Miller, and Wallace C. McIntyre, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace McIntyre of Hawk Eye, were married Saturday at 2:00 p.m. by Rev H John Van derbeck at the First Baptist Church. The ceremony featured a double ring rite beneath an arch of gladioli and lilies, with the bride in a tulle gown over slipper satin and a lace jacket.

The bride wore a fingertip veil with a pearl clip and carried pink tea roses and white daisies. Nancy Brown of Bloomington acted as bridesmaid with a blue acetate and rayon gown and gladioli bouquet. Ronald Schatter was best man. ushers were Gerald Gehring and Leon Schultz. The ceremony featured candle lighters Marlene Durscher and Darlene Lohmeyer. A church reception for three hundred followed with cake by Mary Brackin and Norma Gehring cutting, gifts opened by Marlene Wede and Ruthann Mitts. The couple, graduates of Elgin and Hawkeye High Schools, will reside at the Milton Miller home after a short honeymoon.
