Flathead Catches 28-Pound River Fish Near Lenox Iowa
A fisherman near Lenox Iowa along the Platte River reeled a 28 pound flathead. In another local oddity Orlando Anderson’s binder in a grain field burned down leaving only the tongue intact after a lightning strike. Mrs Lena Nimeyer found a Gutenberg Press dated February 2 1893. An ad claimed men’s suits and overcoats were once 1.25 each, now higher. Mrs Mary Kilworth age 106 cannot garden this summer marking her as perhaps the second oldest person in Iowa.
