Elgin Community Notes from Local Visits and Travel
Paul Dean of American Can Company visited Elgin to see family. Various residents joined trips, vacations, or moves, including Kathryn and Margaret Strauch returning from Postville, Mae Harrington at Thoma’s store, and Otto Olson with Bailey brothers heading to Des Moines for military training. Local housing changes and editor duties at the Arg-Gazette are noted, along with Benton's Demcrat boasting pages and a birth town pride statement.
