Much Proposed Legislation Will Not Be Adopted
A late spring update discusses state fiscal projections for 1947-49, noting a potential $21 million deficit even with a $60 million surplus cited by Republicans. The piece contrasts administration and GOP views on school funding from surplus versus ongoing income, while highlighting party leadership shifts and Iowa House dynamics including Rep. Gene Posten and Rep. Arch McFarlane.
