Uniform Plan On Daylight Savings Time Faces Hurdles

A year of confusion prompts Iowa lawmakers to seek uniform daylight time. The House backed a shorter period from Memorial Day to Labor Day by 90 to 31, while the Senate approved last Sunday in April to Labor Day. A House motion to reconsider was filed by Rep. Also described: reapportionment debates and a Senate plan to base districts on population with room for a future area factor if constitutional changes occur. The piece notes ongoing questions about trucks and length limits.
