Aunt Sarah Stuffman and Mary Marin returned from Cherokee. Postmaster Frisbie Owasa moved the post office back to its old quarters Thursday. Rev T E Babcock called yesterday and heads today to Michigan. Rev J R Knodell fell ill after delivering his sermon. Mrs J D K Smith went to Chicago to visit friends and meet Mr Smith on his return from Ohio. The Famous Albion Club came to play Eldora in baseball but rain halted the game. LB Bedell is now admitted to the Iowa Supreme Court Bar with a 93 on exam.
ALVORD and Forker announce two cars of Ohio potatoes arriving next week. A special low price will be offered on ten barrel lots.
Reports say a new stock man named Schultz will start buying at the C I D depot. The move signals competition and could push up food prices paid to farmers for their stock. Rev. R A Brown of Carthage IL visited Rev. W H Slingers. they were college chums not seen in years while Brown traveled to visit friends near Iowa Falls.

Sociable at M E parsonage well attended with donations for pastor.
The new Christian chapel at Radcliffe will be dedicated on Sunday October 24 with Rev J E Denton State Evangelist officiating. Everyone is cordially invited to attend. The writer plans to attend to meet Radcliffe subscribers and form acquaintances with locals. Col S J Mendell and daughter Grace of Dows Wright county visited the Delmonico hotel this week as they travel by team through the state. Judge Porter suffered a broken thigh Monday at the C I & D depot after a fall while helping load hogs. he is cared for at home as doctors hope for recovery, though age may slow his return.
W H and C E Slingerland express heartfelt gratitude for the cordial welcome received in Eldora on their return for another year. They acknowledge many gifts and especially thank outside friends for a substantial silver offering, valuing words of Christian friendship shared by church members and others.
Areh Sharar’s home six miles southwest of Nubbard hosts a Saturday dance. Local youths disrupt the party causing property damage including a large looking glass and a sewing machine. Henry Gogerty and a relative, seeking revenge, visit Beverly Johnsons in a violent confrontation.
Last Sunday no preaching at the M E church, attendees visited the Presbyterian church for both services to hear Rev. D L Hughes. The account praises Hughes and Tueches, notes Hughes health failing, and records his Oct 24 farewell with morning and 3 30 pm services. It recounts Mrs Hughes death, her life, and a funeral at the Congregational church.
A.J. McManes, 26, son of James McManes of Jackson township, IWardin county, died while working a well five miles northeast of Ankeny. He fell back into the 82 foot shaft near the top as he was being drawn up, likely due to damp air. Funeral at Fairfax school house, Rev. J. Dolph officiating. Burial in Berlin cemetery.
