National Champs in 39 Winning Performances

The May photo shows Bonnie Burgess and Joanne Dean, violin and bassoon soloists, who earned Division I honors in Minneapolis. Lois Miller later earned a national superior violin solo rating as a junior and taught Ronnie to the top rank. National contests were dropped several years ago.

Local visits included Mr and Mrs Keith Thompson in Des Moines and a bridge party hosted by Mrs K Santee. Sherry Curtis had two stitches after being struck by a rock thrown by a playmate.
