Vocational Rehabilitation Boosts Disabled Iowans to Taxpayers

The Vocational Rehabilitation Division of the Department of Public Instruction restored 785 disabled Iowans to work in 1953-54. Of 141 Waterloo district rehabilitations, 40 secured jobs, 66 received training, and 27 got aids. Average weekly wages rose from 5.68 to 47.08 dollars, a 62 percent gain.
