Iowa State college agronomists invite Hardin County farmers to an open house at the Agronomy Farm in Ames for a summer field day on Wednesday July 6. Morning and afternoon tours will cover crop rotations fertilizers and manure legumes and grasses variety trials including oats barley wheat and flax with oat breeding and diseases. An afternoon tour will feature new tillage practices such as wide row corn and ridge and mulch tillage.

Community church mission meets in social room afternoon
Mrs. Fred Cummins presided as the Community church missionary society met in the social room on Wednesday afternoon. Hymns were sung with Mrs. Hugh Ghormley at the piano. Readings from First Corinthians and two selections preceded the Lord's Prayer. Finance reported $44.50 added to the treasury. Letters from Mrs. C. H. Bietzel and the Girtons were read. A $25 donation was approved for the Navajo workers near Gallup New Mexico. Refreshments were served by the organizing committee. Birthday offerings were received in a candlelight service led by the president.
