N L Webster aged 79 pioneer resident of Radcliffe died suddenly Monday night at his farm home northwest of town in poor health for years. Funeral services were held Friday at Bergeson funeral home and Methodist Church with Rev C L Yeager officiating. He was survived by a daughter Hazel and wife Dora preceded him in death.
Harold Tesdahl son of Mr and Mrs Carl Tesdahl Radcliffe Iowa and Vivian Martin daughter of Major Martin Herbst Indiana were married Friday evening December 28 at the Herbst Methodist church The double ring ceremony was performed by Willum Simpson The bride wore a navy street length dress with matching accessories and a corsage of red roses Both attended local high schools Radcliffe and Zeeuw Indiana The couple will reside in Radcliffe visiting relatives over Christmas before traveling to Northwood and Almena Wisconsin for further visits
The Women’s Society of Christian Service of the Methodist Church met January 6 at the home of Mrs. Jennie Ross with 31 attendees. Mrs. B A Nelson presided as devotional leaders Mrs Ernest Houck and Mrs Kenneth Cammack presented a Bible women playlet. Lunch featured a centerpiece mirror display and a “January 1, 1950” candle-tallow figure. Hostesses were Mrs. B G Prescott Mrs W H Cornell and Mrs Charles Papp.
After a business meeting the group spent sewing and lunch was served by the hostesses. Attendees included Mr. angst, Mrs. Ray Potthoff, Mr. and Mrs. John Witts, Gratis Wills, Mer. and Mrs. Carl Reiter and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Luiken and daughters, and Mrs. Orville Witts who attended the wedding of Mildred Kupu and Calvin Wiltfang at the Reformed church in Wellsburg. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wilson and family of Jewels enjoyed Sunday evening supper in the Orville Asher home. Mr. and Mrs. Christ Christians welcomed a daughter born at Eldora hospital.
