The recent safe driving program sponsored by local Hi Y and Tri Hi Y drew 180 attendees. About 85 youths and 45 adults attended, asking insightful questions of the patrolman speaker to address highway deaths and solutions. Observers noted strong interest and benefit, praising the event and urging more such educational gatherings in the future.
A revised creed for small American communities emphasizes self respect, resource conservation, organized effort without excess, rejection of factionalism and propaganda, and a duty to contribute to an intelligent public opinion. It honors farmers, fishermen, and miners as the community’s core, urging prosperity with those workers and not exploiting them.
