Agnes Ernwine, a 51 year veteran teacher at Eldora high school, signs her 31st contract and reflects on a lifetime in education. She began in 1904 near Nashua, earned a BA at Grinnell, studied widely, and came to Eldora in 1925 to teach history, social science and Latin. Her pupils recall her discipline with humor, world affairs interest, and lasting influence. she plans to travel after retirement rather than stay in Eldora.
