El Paso extends a grand greeting to six thousand visitors as teachers and friends arrive in large numbers for a city event. The streets and venues prepare for a bustling gathering with local organizations coordinating the welcome.

Convention visitors flood El Paso in multi-train arrivals

Last evening 480 travelers from eastern Texas arrived with 8 coaches and 120 baggage pieces. Tonight 3 more trains bring about 1400 teachers and friends to the El Paso convention. Additional trains and crowds from New Orleans Santa Fe G H and L A lines anticipate thousands more arrivals through Wednesday with registrations urged at the chamber offices. The crowd includes Knights of Pythias and local educators, concerts by McGinty and Chihuahua bands, and Cloudcroft headquarters in Wells Fargo building.
