In Philadelphia on June 12 the Republican National Committee subcommittees met to finish convention preparations for today’s full committee session. They recommended Senator Wolcott of Colorado as temporary chairman and G. W. Johnson as temporary secretary, a choice to become permanent.

Filipino General Sison, who faced MacArthur last fall north of Manila, was captured by Lieut. Johnson of the 41st Infantry. Sison had been operating with about 1,000 troops north of Manila.
